Smart Factory, Smart Supply Chain

PROMATIS at the world’s largest Oracle User Conference (COLLABORATE 15), presenting trendsetting contribution

From April 12th through 16th, this year’s COLLABORATE opened its gates at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. The world’s largest and most important user conference for Oracle technologies and user training was organized by the Oracle user groups IOUG (Independent Oracle Users Group), OAUG (Oracle Applications Users Group), and Quest International Oracle Users Group. More than 5,000 business applications and database software users, service providers, consultants, developers and representatives from Oracle were offered a varied program of lectures, high-profile keynote speakers and workshops on the accompanying exhibition. Oracle Platinum Partner PROMATIS presented a pioneering lecture to the Oracle community at the C-Level Track: Dr. Frank Schoenthaler, CEO, spoke on the topic „Smart Factory, Smart Supply Chain,… – Are Oracle Applications Smart Enough?”.

The presentation will focus on the 4th Industrial Revolution, which has already begun and found its way into today’s businesses and is driven by availability and networking of Cyber-physical systems (CPS). The important potential of the German economy of this revolution are being recognized and reflected in the future-project „Industry 4.0” as part of the High-Tech Strategy „Innovations for Germany” by the German Federal Government. The collaboration across organizational boundaries, based on Cyber-physical systems along the entire value chain will be the critical success factor. Conventional business applications are insufficiently equipped for this kind of collaboration and are only suitable for back office areas. Therefore Oracle application customers are well advised to ensure their application solutions of the usability of Industry 4.0. The DOAG – German ORACLE User Group – can provide valuable assistance and a critical platform for discussions. An integrated management of business processes and Master Data, Big Data Analytics and Cloud are rendering them equally enabler and driver for Industry 4.0. In this respect the user finds himself confronted by an endlessly changing array of new challenges in the Industry 4.0, which they are totally out of keeping with the expectations of our education and training systems . The DOAG is ready to make a valuable contribution to the targeted vocational training.
