Process-oriented expertise bundled thanks to new business unit
Ettlingen, December 8, 2014 – The PROMATIS software GmbH underlines the most important element of their corporate strategy — business process management — by founding a separate business domain. In doing so, PROMATIS is establishing the business unit “Business Process Management” (BPM), headed by Senior Vice President Johannes Michler, hence responding to the growing demand by clients for business process management, using the synergies created with the software manufacturer Oracle. Johannes Michler, BPM product and project specialist as well as an author and speaker of numerous scientific and application-related articles in BPM, is not only responsible in his new position for go-to-market and managing the product development. Together with his team, he also is available to clients as expert in all matters relating to BPM.
For more than 20 years now, PROMATIS stands for the synergistic interaction of business processes and modern technologies. Pioneering achievements were the extension of the Oracle development environment for business process modeling tools and the introduction of Oracle applications with reference models. With these, PROMATIS supports integrated, enterprise-wide business processes, which can be introduced in a company economically and quickly.
It is crucial for the suitability of BPM solutions—especially in the case of SMEs—to be easy and intuitively to operate by non-technical staff. The result of many years of research at the Institute for Applied Computer Science and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) at the KIT and at the Karlsruhe Research Center for Computer Science (FZI) in collaboration with the industrial partner PROMATIS, was a completely new generation of BPM tools to support the entire life cycle of business processes. Horus understands the totality of knowledge providers who are involved in the design and optimization of business processes in transformation projects as a business community. Hence, PROMATIS prefers working with the BPM tool Horus on client projects for visualization of functional processes. It is very easy to handle compared to other known tools and provides professional process modeling with documentation. Tools from the Oracle Fusion Middleware product family (Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle BPM Suite) are used for the technical realization of the processes.
Dealing with BPM forces companies to deal with their business process and to analyze and visualize them. Primarily, this creates transparency. The benefit behind this is a much more secure workflow, higher quality, and as a result, also an increase in efficiency. However, the key requirement here is rather the integration of the BPM Suite into the system landscape — especially in existing enterprise software systems — as well as the integration of cloud and on-premise solutions.
“The software companies that are generally focused on specialized applications often lack the necessary expertise for a seamless integration. As an Oracle Platinum Partner with years of experience in BPM, PROMATIS sets great emphasis on a process-oriented approach, taking the entire value chain into account. The business unit BPM, established focusing on fast and sustainable realization of process innovations, taps potentials lying dormant and therefore fulfills exactly what our clients hope for,” says Johannes Michler.
