PROMATIS implements Oracle BI Suite at Gerdes Kunststofftechnik

Solid data warehouse basis created

In June 2011, PROMATIS successfully implemented the Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Suite 11g at the Gerdes Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG. The project goal was to create a firm foundation for the gradual establishment of an enterprise data warehouse, in which corporate key indicators can be clearly displayed for the management and where regular monitoring can be carried out. A number of important key indicators were implemented and made available in unison with the customer during the project. The high degree of customer satisfaction reflects the successful project implementation. Current plans include a system expansion and enhancement to meet specific customer needs. Gerdes relies on a long-term cooperation with PROMATIS.

Gerdes has specialized in the plastic injection-molding field for more than 50 years now. “Maximum quality, close work together with our customers, commitment and flexibility ultimately laid the foundation for success and balanced growth at two manufacturing sites. A partner who sets the highest quality standards themselves, displaying equally high commitment and competence is very important to us as far as our IT projects are concerned. Therefore, we are very pleased with PROMATIS”, Stefan Wolff, director of EDP/Controlling at Gerdes Kunststofftechnik relates.

PROMATIS proceeded systematically, first carrying out a requirements analysis using the Horus© Business Process Management tool. This allowed quick and efficient mapping of all customer requirements by using prefabricated reference models. This hugely simplified and accelerated the Oracle BI Suite 11g implementation. The first key indicator analysis was possible after only two weeks time. Gerdes was finally able to automatically collect and analyze up to date corporate information from a legacy system. This ultimately included order backlogs and planned orders, turnover for customers and customer groups as well as different products and product groups, machine up-time, setup times and conversion frequency. This allows corporate management to react more quickly to changes. This improved clarity simplified all procedures.

In addition, a support contract will ensure smooth operation for the future. Nothing stands in the way of system expansion and a continuing positive collaboration.
